  • Run the Labs day to day: priorities, check-ins, follow-ups, keeping the whole machine humming
  • Spot bottlenecks and crush them, whether they're technical, people, or process
  • Own the release train: help deploy and test our apps so they hit the timeline
  • Co-write the vision with our founder. Your opinion actually moves things here

Keeps the Labs out of trouble, now and later

The gist: you're our shield. Every filing, contract, and letter goes through you, so we can move fast without stepping on a legal landmine.

What you'll actually do

  • Own everything legal for the Labs in India, including but not limited to:
    • Setting up the org, end to end
    • Handling taxes from the legal side
    • Future-proofing us against legal claims
    • Joining, termination, and sabbatical letters (a little HR crossover)
  • Keep us privacy-compliant. We build for families, so data protection laws like India's DPDP Act matter a lot
  • Help shape the vision with the rest of the crew
  • Be the go-to for whatever the Labs needs, week in, week out

You're a fit if

  • You're the subject-matter expert on all things legal: corporate, tax, employment, contracts
  • Bonus points for a law degree or experience setting up startups

  • Build the business roadmap for the Indian and US markets, including but not limited to:
    • Defining the MVP for each geo: what we launch, for whom, and why
    • Managing the budgets for both pilots
    • Staying plugged into global and Indian market trends that matter to us
    • Making sure what we build matches the business direction
  • Talk to real families: run user interviews and turn pilot feedback into decisions
  • Help shape the vision with the rest of the crew
  • Be the go-to for whatever the Labs needs, week in, week out

Questions you're probably asking

Wait, is this paid?

Not in cash, not yet. You get equity, a premium AI plan, a MacBook that's yours to keep, bonus credits, surprise Apple gifts, and a founding seat. As the Labs grows and starts earning, we'll revisit cash compensation together.

How much equity are we talking?

A good amount, and we're upfront about it once we've talked. Exact numbers depend on the role and are shared 1:1 after the vibe check.

Can I do this alongside my full-time job?

That's the whole idea behind 10 hours a week. Just double-check your employer's side-gig or moonlighting policy first.

Why is 10 hrs/week "mandatory"?

Because a small crew only works if everyone actually shows up. Ten focused hours a week, consistently, beats a burst of 40 followed by ghosting. We'd rather be honest about it up front.

Where do I need to be?

Anywhere in India. The role is fully remote. Our founder is based in the US, so expect a regular sync call at a time that works for both India and the US.
